In keeping up with the spirit of the Maltese Cat, we will be introducing shortly a variety of polo supplies, factory direct to you, under the Maltese Cat Polo brand. As soon as all negotiations are completed, these products will be offerred at various outlets and at considerable savings to you.
However, please keep the following jewel of wisdom in mind:

John Ruskin, a nineteenth-century commentator on architecture among other things, warned:

“It is unwise to pay too much, but it’s worse to pay too little.  When you pay too much you lose a little money—that is all.  When you pay too little you sometimes lose everything, because the thing you bought was incapable of doing the things it was bought to do.  The common law of business balance prohibits paying a little and getting a lot.  It can’t be done.  If you deal with the lowest bidder, it is well to add something for the risk you run, and if you do that you will have enough to pay for something better.”

Keep watching this page to find out when you can take advantage of these offers.

PRODUCTS FROM PAKISTAN

Although polo can trace its roots back two and a half thousand years, “modern polo” finds its origins in northern India, where it was discovered by the British military, who later spread the game throughout the world. Today, Pakistan, which is located in what used to be northern India, still has a thriving polo life, as evidenced by the video below.
When you are looking for an alternative to purchasing mallets, both SHAHIRA INDUSTRIES of Sialkot, Pakistan and NEW HG RUSTAM & COMPANY can provide mallets of surprisingly good quality at a very economical price. REMEMBER: Because of the price of shipping, an order of one or two mallets is not cost effective. However, if you and your club or friends wish to combine an order of 20 mallets together, your average price per mallet drops down to around $40-$60. To get this special price, please send an e-mail to me at maltese_cat@yahoo.com and I will put you in direct contact with the manufacturer. SHAHIRA INDUSTRIES offers a variety of polo and horse supplies, as well.

PRODUCTS FROM ARGENTINA – ZAPPALA

Due to the stricter laws put in place by the Argentine governmen starting in November 2011 concerning the sole use of the ARS (Argentina Peso) by all residents, and the discontinuation of the use of foreign currencies, it has become virtually impossible to sell Argentine goods through the internet.
It would appear that your only means of purchasing polo equipment from Argentina is to 1.) visit Argentina yourself 2.) buy through a foreign dealer who exports from Argentina or 3.) arrange for a person in Argentina to purchase the equipment and then ship or transport the goods to you.

    Dear Maltesecat Polo Team
I am from Switzerland and would like to know if it is possible to order a wooden horse as displayed on your side also in Europe or somewhere else.
The constraction is very impressive. I would like to get one for the Swiss Polo Club as additional training tool.

    Best,

    • Fatou,
I apologize for the tardy reply. I have been neglectful with this site and overlooked your mail.
I know of no one in Europe selling wooden horses. However, if you taken the various plans to most any carpenter, he could easily construct a suitable horse for you. I would be interested in your results.
      Regards,
      Cat
